The perfect proofreader, editor or writer:

  • has a ‘natural eye’ for spotting errors;
  • is competent in formal grammar and punctuation rules;
  • is stylistically consistent and clear;
  • is able to spot all manner of mistakes and ambiguities;
  • has up to date computer skills with fast and accurate typing;
  • pays great attention to detail;
  • has an aversion to the incorrect use of apostrophes;
  • loves finding ways to chip, chisel and polish text;
  • has a passion for simple, engaging communication;
  • does not accept that ‘near enough is good enough’; and
  • loves the English language.
